We have followed and visited Tenmile Distillery from the beginning when they opened up in Wassaic, NY. It was amazing to see the new Forsyth stills brought over from Scotland. And not only that, they brought over their Master Distiller Shane Fraser as well! His resume includes time at Oban, Glenfarclas and Wolfburn. Pretty amazing stuff.
When we had the opportunity to do an exclusive pick with them, we jumped at it. Not long ago, we hosted the team for a tasting in the shop for the Saratoga Whiskey Club and went through many of their now sought-after Battlefield releases. So it made sense to do something around the Battles of Saratoga. Joel, the General Manager of the Distillery, came to the shop not long ago and I was able to taste through some samples that would become the Battles of Saratoga release. We settled on one, including a label, and it was history! This barrel proof release is only available at First Fill Spirits and at the Distillery.

Charles’ Tasting Notes: Nose – Vanilla, Baking Spice, Sourdough Bread; Palate – Bright and Sweet, Citrus, Cinnamon; Finish – Long, Caramel, White Pepper. Overall a very creamy dram with sweetness, spice and great viscosity.
