Description
The distillery is located just south of Auckland, the largest city in New Zealand on the North Island, right in the small village of Pōkeno. Founded by whisky industry veteran Matt Johns around 2017, it is now the largest whisky distillery in New Zealand. They use New Zealand grown barley and draw pure spring water from the surrounding volcanic hills. Their location and these hills also make way for a subtropical climate that creates conditions to accelerate the spirit’s maturation and flavor development in the barrel.

Made from 100% New Zealand grown barley and matured in First Fill Bourbon and Sherry casks.
Brand Tasting Notes: Rich and complex whisky with beautiful notes of dark chocolate, ripe cherries and sweet citrus.
Holly’s Tasting Notes: Chocolate, oranges and cherries. Baked apple pie spice. The palate shows a lot of baking spice and dried fruit. Dehydrated apples, nutmeg and Mexican chocolate.
