Description

The Pinhook brand was founded by Sean Josephs who has an impressive background in the culinary scene of NYC. Some of his work includes roles at Char No. 4 and Maysville. He also opened Kenton’s in New Orleans. His love for food and Bourbon led to the inspiration for Pinhook. The rye is sourced from MGP in Indiana and the Bourbon is sometimes from MGP and other times comes from Castle & Key Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky. Sean works directly with Castle & Key to create custom mashbills and blends for some of his Bourbon releases.

Taste

This release was distilled for Pinhook by Castle & Key Distillery and bottled at Kentucky Artisan Distillery.

The mashbill is 60% rye, 20% corn, and 20% malted barley

Brand Tasting Notes: Opens with a soft and fragrant nose of orange blossom, honeysuckle, green apple, and baking spice, leading to a rich palate of walnuts, dates, spiced caramel, and white pepper.
