Lost Lantern is a pioneer of both American Whiskey & Independent Bottlers. Typically, we see independent bottlers in Scotland bottling whisky from distilleries all over the country. This is a niche of the industry allowing them to showcase superb single malts and small batch blends that otherwise wouldn’t be available. This has never been commonplace in the USA, until now! They are truly an “American Independent Bottler” and source rare and special whiskies from all over the USA. Their goal is to shine a light on whiskies you may not have seen or tasted before through single casks and blends. They bottle American Single Malts, Bourbons, and Ryes.
Taste
Andalusia Whiskey Co. is in Blanco, Texas. This is an American Single Malt and 10% of the malted barley was peated with Irish peat. It was matured in a barrel that previously held “Stryker”, a single malt from the distillery that is smoked with Texas wood. It was matured for 2 years and 6 months in this barrel and then finished in an ex-Anejo tequila cask for 6 months.
Brand Tasting Notes: Rich butterscotch, delicate, grassy smoke on the nose. The palate has a fresh grassy flavor with hints of vanilla cream and a deep complex smoke.
