Founded in 2005, Kilchoman was the first new distillery to be built on Islay in over 124 years. Anthony Wills, Kilchoman Founder, set out to resurrect the grassroots tradition of farm distilling. Their 100% Islay range represents the revival of these traditions, standing alone as Islay’s only Single Farm Single Malt Scotch Whisky. They do everything on-site, even their own maltings.
Taste
Aged in a combination of shaved, toasted, re-charred (STR) ex-red wine casks, ex–Oloroso sherry butts, and ex–bourbon barrels.
Brand Tasting Notes: Fresh cherries, heather blossoms, and intense peat smoke on the nose lead to toffee, vanilla, crumpets, butter, and honey on a silky palate.
