The core range of Douglas Laing includes the Remarkable Regional Malts: The Epicurean (Lowland), Timorous Beastie (Highland), Scallywag (Speyside), The Gauldrons (Campbeltown), Rock Island (Islands), as well as Big Peat from Islay. They also bottle single casks such as the Old Particular and Xtra Old Particular bottlings.
Douglas Laing owns Strathearn in Perthshire which was acquired in 2019 and planning to build a new distillery in Glasgow.
Taste
This is the 2022 limited edition of Scallywag. This is a Speyside blended malt that has been matured in 100% Spanish Sherry butts. It has been blended to have notes of intense cocoa, hence the name! They claim that a few of the malts that go into this blended malt include Macallan, Mortlach, and Glenrothes.
