Description

The independent bottling brands “Cree” and “Creetown Distillers” come from the folks at the Whisky Broker Ltd. Company. Founded in 2010 by Martin Armstrong, the brand is named after their location in Creetown, Scotland. The name of the town and the brand come from the River Cree that runs through it. They are about two hours south of Glasgow, right on the water looking out to the Irish Sea and the Isle of Man. They began modestly and have grown to now have their own warehouses and over 20 people on their team.

Taste

Cask 300027 | Matured in a Hogshead

Caol Ila was founded in 1846, when Hector Henderson decided to build a small distillery in the bay next to Port Askaig, on Islay’s east coast. Caol Ila, Gaelic for the Sound of Islay, the stretch of water which it overlooks. Known for heavily peated malt.

Holly’s Tasting Notes: Sweet sugar-coated almonds, lemon, lime and orange. There is white chocolate on the palate with lemonade, lemon-lime, soot, burnt wood, and almost an algae quality to it, which has a coastal salinity. Overall, sweet lemon-lime Gatorade with peat!
