Description
Located in Hammondsport, New York on Keuka Lake, Barrelhouse 6 Distillery was a vision back in 2012. Founded by husband and wife, Kara and Joe, they began making whisky in 2017 along with buying whiskey from other New York State distilleries and blending themselves while they waited for their main distillery to be completed. Their distillery and visitor center opened its doors in this Wine country of the Finger Lakes region in the Spring of 2021.
Taste
This release is called “Brothers’ 1910” Bourbon Whisky. Aged in medium toast and charred new oak barrels, then finished for two months in a PX Sherry Casks.
Brand Tasting Notes: Caramel, vanilla, and floral notes on the nose. On the palate, it is smooth and warming with caramel, orange zest, toasted oak, and a hint of coffee. The finish is long and full of mouthfeel, vanilla custard, caramel, and buttery toffee.
