Description

A.D. Rattray is named after Andrew Dewar Rattray who got his start as an importer of French Wines, Italian Spirits, and olive oil in 1868. He then began to establish himself as a specialist in the field of blending and storing malt and grain whiskies. The company became well known for its wine & whisky selection throughout Glasgow. When Andrew passed away, the company went to a whisky broker named William Walker whose daughter later married Stanley Morrison. This Walker-Morrison duo both had a rich history in whisky and brought A.D. Rattray to where it is today.

A.D. Rattray is now considered one of the premium independent bottlers of the industry. The company is also behind the brands Stronachie and Bank Note. In 2017 they opened the Clydeside Distillery in Glasgow.

Cask # 166 | Distilled January 2012, bottled February 2023

Glenrothes is a Speyside Distillery owned by Edrington (Macallan & Highland Park). It has always been an important malt for the blended Scotch world but has recently become a single malt brand in its own right.

Brand Tasting Notes: The nose has butter tablet, sugared almond, and green cardamom. The palate has treacle toffee, roast hazelnut, and dried apricot. The finish has sherried fruit and spice which compliments the sweetness.
